  • The 14th Annual DC South Asian Film Festival was nothing short of spectacular! From start to finish, it celebrated the richness, diversity, and creativity of South Asian cinema. The festival showcased a perfect blend of powerful storytelling, breathtaking performances, and thought-provoking themes.

One of the highlights was the series of workshops, where filmmakers generously shared their expertise on scriptwriting, screenplay development, creating pitch decks, securing financing, and partnering with top distributors. These sessions provided invaluable insights for both emerging and established filmmakers, making the festival not just a showcase of films, but also a hub for learning and professional growth.

The organization was flawless — with a comfortable venue, convenient location, and a warm, welcoming atmosphere. Every screening was packed with engaged audiences, and the energy in the room was electrifying. DCSAFF continues to be a premier platform for filmmakers to connect with global audiences, and for the community to experience the very best of South Asian film. A truly unforgettable celebration of culture, art, and unity!

We wish to extend our heartfelt thank you to the DC South Asian Film Festival for selecting Ray of Hope for their program. Although we couldn’t attend in person, we truly understand the significance of building in-person connections. Over the past four months, our film has traveled to 15 festivals and had two theatrical runs worldwide, so it’s been an exhilarating and busy journey.

We deeply appreciated the excellent communication and seamless logistical support from the festival team, which made the experience so smooth. Receiving the Best Documentary Award Jury Mention was an unexpected and humbling surprise, especially on a weekend when we had two other screenings.

Thank you for recognizing Ray of Hope's importance to the Tamil community and for supporting diverse voices in sharing stories of conflict, resilience, and hope.
